#CoSoMusic and if that's too moody, this will work.
#CoSoMusic My Friend in music, Mike Evin is getting ready to release a new album. I've struggled for a while to find a good description for his music. I finally settled on, his music sounds like ever good sitcom theme from the 70s. It just has that warm familiar sound/production.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls, you piece of shit.
@sonnybillglover just FYI, listening through your songs and Stepping Stone is a really f'ing good song!
Let's help @GaryPoole enjoy his last day being DJ at Big 106.9.
Question of the Day: What makes you happy?
For me personally, everything was alright more or less. But the anger comes from the opportunity we had before us and I think you could argue, we pissed it away. I'm not ignorant of the dangers and challenges we faced. I just can't help but think we could have done much better. You could argue that the Cold War kept a lid on places like Somalia and Yugoslavia.
Maybe it's just me being adjusting to DST
I think what made me mad was all the hope for the future and the possibilities that were unimaginable before the end of the Cold war. The constant threat of nuclear war...my part of the country was an important target and there were no shortage of people that liked to remind me of it. Some idiots even tried to wear it as a badge of honor. So, the end of the Cold war came as a relief to me. Coupled with a new optimism, it felt like everything was going to be alright.
Winds of Change by The Scorpions came on the radio today and I genuinely got mad and switched the radio off. To be honest, it took me a minute to process why. That song, I feel, was the definitive song on the end of the Cold War. By a German band finally seeing their country reunified. I liked The he Scorpions, but never was a fan of the song. I did respect it, though, and what it signified.
#CoSoMusic another was a surprise birthday trip to see Trampled By Turtles with These United States opening. I ended up falling in love with These United States and the song, Honor Among Thieves. I don't know what to tell you about why, just that band and song stuck with me for a long while after.

I don't know that I want to do the #20albums thing in #CoSomusic . At least not right now. But there are a few shows that definitely influenced me. The funniest, was Bela Fleck &The Flecktones/Yonder Mountain String Band/Keller Williams at Kings Island in 2005ish. Not that they were a joke, just that they happened to be playing there the day I was there. It was my first introduction to Keller and Yonder. Looping became a thing for me soon after.
