@JeniRizio @thedisasterautist Ugh, that old myth should've died decades ago. The fact it's still circulating is just absurd.

@JeniRizio Moclobemide is not like other MAOIs - it's a reversible inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A (RIMA) that studies have even found to be more tolerable than SSRIs, of all things.

RIMAs also lack the tyramine contraindication - a restricted diet is not necessary.

And they're not contraindicated for use with epinephrine. They do interact, but not severely.

My question is: why hasn't the use of RIMAs *exploded*? The data suggests they should be the holy grail of psychiatric medicine.

@JeniRizio Yes, turkey vultures are known to scavenge on dead animals, including other turkey vultures. They are carrion-eating birds and play an important role in cleaning up the environment by consuming decaying flesh. While it is not common for them to eat other turkey vultures, they may do so if they come across a deceased member of their own species.
