What ever happened to the news that wasn't one sided? I remember newspapers that would put a story out based on what the facts were and then may have learned later on that they were missing part of the story and so they would post an update. I miss news that lets you figure it out based on the facts and not just already feeding you their thoughts built in.

It never existed. Sure, a few here and there were like that, but go check out your typical local paper from ca 1900 and you'll find it's full of mistakes and outright lies.

I once researched a local murder from 1929. Involved 3 states and ended in 2 executions, so I got newspapers from all areas involved. Absolutely terrible jobs covering the case. The reporters would regularly change what witnesses said on the stand so they could create their own narrative.

@Agatha Sad but true. I was interviewed by a local TV reporter and they cut out parts of my statement and took it out of context to make it "news worthy".
