@CherNohio @NOliver
I was once a registered Republican. I voted for Nixon. 😬
When I speak of the Republican Party, I'm not necessarily speaking about the members but the leadership. When I do refer to members of the far-right, I'm referring to MAGAts and their ilk.
I don't mean to disparage your parents or any of the decent Republicans I've known. But I don't believe the current GOP shares any of the values your parents practiced.
I'm not apologetic in denouncing fascists and Trumpests.
@Jeber @CherNohio @NOliver
I would agree with the equivocation around 2014, maybe 2015.
Not anymore.
All the good Republicans are no longer Republicans by this point. The people who can rationalize this level of evil will be generalized with those directly perpetrating it.
Graham's famous line, that he mealy-mouthed backtracked, was that Trump would destroy the party, AND THEY WOULD DESERVE IT.
The problem I couldn't foresee is all the Pubs who went along with it.

Please untag me from any further comments on the subject. My point was made and I no longer wish to engage. Thank you.
@Jeber My parents were Republican and gave their entire lives to helping others faithfully. From taking in those in need, offering what they had (even if the last), shuttling homebound to appts, providing food to the hungry, paying for meds to those who couldn't afford..on and on.
While we didn't align politically, their actions were a great inspiration for my life today.
I just think speaking in generalities isn't fair to them or those not fitting your characterization.
