I've found it also helps to own your anger, then you can control it. Quit saying, "So and so makes me so angry" and instead say, "I've allowed so and so to make me angry". Don't let external forces control your emotions.

@Jeber Agreed... But somehow we always seem to find it more difficult to blame others for our 'faults' than accept them as being our own.

I contend that we find it easy to blame others. It's god's will, fate, karma, my parents raised me this way, I couldn't help it...
Accepting responsibility for our emotions and reactions isn't easy for most people.
