I learned today a new "fact"

The Marabou bird is primarily a scavenger and took the niche of the vulture in the Indris valley at civilization's dawn.

Because they could be seen eating dead animals the Sumerians had a myth belief that Marabou carried the souls of the dead from their bodies to the afterlife.

The Sumerians also believed in reincarnation, so they thought the Marabou escorted the souls of the reincarnated back to their new bodies.

Part of doing so will be ramping up my volunteer service in my community. I’m a strong believer that helping another helps oneself. It serves and gives purpose.

I’m also going to be on a local board which serves the needs for women of domestic violence. This just came about and I look forward to the opportunities it will present.

The summer will be full but I have fun plans as well. Balance. It’s all about balance.

New improv jam this morning. It's been a hot minute since I've picked up the guitar because reasons. This morning, after a coffee, I just thought f*ck it.
