Pardon my ignorance, but can't Senate Democrats force a vote to bypass Tuberville's hold on promotions in the military?
I am honestly not sure, and asking!
To get around a filibuster and speed up the process they pass a unanimous consent vote.
Tubervilles hold is turning something that could take a few hours to something that would take a few months

@Kinnison That part I knew, I just did not know that they actually WERE holding votes behind the scenes and getting things done.
I thought they had simply come to a standstill and were wringing their hands, moaning "Whatever shall we DO?"
Theresa Rowe sent me a link to an article on NPR that quelled my little "riot of one."
They should have started with the top postings, IMO, and made a big deal of it, telegraphing their moves to clip Tuberville's little nuts in the media, lol...
Schumer had been refusing to hold individual votes for nominees/promotions. He agreed to hold votes for Chief of JCS, Marine Commandant, and I think the Chief of the Navy.
Tubervile is blocking unanimous consent, where they would be grouped together and all approved at once.
I don't know why he won't let the rest of the 300 through. Just don't adjourn the Senate until the 300 votes are held.
@KGinKS @JasonCrocker616 @Kinnison
Exactly! Force the whole Senate to work harder and feel the pain of Tuberville's madness. Then, as well as making progress on confirmations, perhaps the whole body can pressure him to stop his childishness.
@KGinKS @sloudermilk @Kinnison Hell, I'd even spring for the ones with cranberry sauce and stuffing for them!
