Back in the '80s, I swore an oath to protect this nation from all enemies foreign and domestic.

I still take it very seriously, as there were no codicils or self-limiting clauses that would suggest that this was an oath that was not meant to last until the day that I stop existing.

I'm largely limited in the scope of what I can do to uphold that oath these days, but I never stop trying.

It's mostly all about voting and calling bad actors out these days.

Do I love Joe Biden?
No,
I never really liked the guy, based on his past voting record.

Do I now respect Joe Biden for the job he has done while under extremely adverse conditions?

Yes. 100%.

@JasonCrocker616 Same. I was telling my daughter that, while Obama ran as a progressive, he actually governed as a centrist. Even the ACA was based on an old GOP plan. (Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad they at least got that through!)

Biden ran as a centrist, but he's been governing as, well, a progressive-leaning, pro-labor centrist, which is a lot more bones than progressives have gotten from the WH since at least Carter.

@sanau @JasonCrocker616 Yes, I remember Biden "helping" the railroad workers a few months ago. Sort of like how Reagan "helped" the pilots and air traffic controllers.

Biden _says_ he is pro-labor. He's not that good at walking his talk to us.

@AskTheDevil @sanau My stepfather was an air traffic controller back then, and I do believe, in my opinion, that Biden treated these railroad workers 100% better than Reagan did the ATCs.
I'd probably think I was biased, but I despised my stepfather, lol...

@JasonCrocker616 @sanau He didn't fire all of them. He did unashamedly break their strike, though. It was in all the news.
