Another one of the frog on frog combat holiday cards. Warm wishes you dying thing you.

I never have to worry about sleeping too late. I have a dog...

This morning she got me up around 1:30 a.m. and insisted something was so wrong I had to be an alert woman warrior.

I listen because she's felt tornadoes coming before the weather service knows they're on the way.

She settled about half an hour ago.

Me? There's not enough coffee in the known universe to get the through the day. But I might end up immortal.
😆

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts I also know about the show (The Witcher) rather than watching it. It's just that my mind latches onto things like this. I sometimes raised eyes in more sober circles by making word associations like this.

My writing tends toward humor.

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts I ended up peeking at the executive version. It's always easier.

And because I have a weird sense of humor I saw the following on the bottom of the page and said, "Now a TV show is getting into the act?"

(just add The) to the name.

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts I hate rotten lawyers so bad I found out a prominent one was abusing a client's money, got inside, got info, went to the bar council's office, and turned him in.

It's a small community. I was kept out of it after they were able to have the chief judge (who I clerked for as a student) "accidentally stumble over" irregularities.

What pissed me off is that he wasn't disbarred. He was publicly sanctioned. Had fines. Etc. Ugh!

He needed to be DISBARRED.

😡

@CaptainTime Time management. I've taken many classes on it over, uh, time. I was so efficient I once got a raise for doing 115% of caseload.

It's like organization. You can organize the house and then a herd of kids come through and... oops.

Unfortunately, I'm not the only one making demands on my time.

Hence, I have time management issues because the second law of thermodynamics has come to live with me. 😂

The answer is 42. Thanks for all the fish.

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts I want to wait for the entire report.

Honestly I freaking hate going through depos trying to find gems in trivia.

I heard the report of that testimony so I know what it said.

Some lawyers are scum. There are the good, the bad, the ugly, the scummy, and those who make my heart sing.

I like to think I was one of the good ones.

@BB160_ Last, but not least, the DOJ is going to do what they always do. Go after the small fish. If they can flip Eastman with immunity they could get proof of a plot to commit insurrection (maybe).

I'm waiting to read the full report. Despite the fact most testimony is deadly dull. It's about 400 pages, I think.

Thankfully, I won't be the one sifting through dreck looking for important facts.

end

@BB160_ @kel Then there's the issue that the referral meets the standard for a referral, not for the federal standard to bring forward a prosecution.

The DOJ wants to have airtight cases. There's exculpatory evidence in the testimony. There's always a defense. Whether it's good or not, there's always a defense. Can they overcome it? The jury is Schrodinger's Box.

If DOJ can't win they won't go forward.

part 2

@BB160_ @kel I think Garland is a straight shooter. So is Smith.

What people don't understand is that a referral from Congress doesn't mean there's sufficient evidence that the DOJ can move forward.

I was never practiced federal law at that level. So I listen to people I know who did.

Insurrection is going to be hella hard to prove beyond a reasonable doubt where the first amendment freedom of political speech is in play.

part 1

@ChristopherNoyesRoberts

Sounds that way to me. Doesn't matter who is paying the bill. The client is the client and the attorney must advocate for the person s/he is representing.

The internet has become so critical to our place that I couldn’t perform elements of my work or my sister stream her movies, etc. she ended up cooking and cleaning after 10 hours without it. How quickly we adapt to new things. I was seven years old the first time I saw a television set. 😱

@rpardee we have the Internet back. I could do some on my little iPhone, but a lot of homework I do on my computer requires my being able to reach out into the cloud and connect to a server. I am a day behind schedule now, but at least I have the chance of catching up. I am happy camper.

Optimum has decided I need a break from the net. All I have is the limited connectivity on my cell phone and the regular Internet has been off now for at least eight hours and they have no idea when it’s coming back.
