I used to think that voting should be mandatory, then I added a question to a multiple-choice exam that no one could possibly answer correctly and found that 25% of my respondents advertently got it right.

@kel When I lived in Australia voting was mandatory. It still is. I believe we should have mandatory voting here.

We took the Australian ballot (secret). Let's make voting mandatory. There's a fine for not voting in Australia.
