I #crochet but cannot knit. I don’t know what it is about 2 basic stitches in knitting that I can’t wrap my brain around when I can do a bazillion different crochet stitches with no problem. Is one left-brained and the other right-brained? Inquiring minds want to know…

I am predominantly right-handed, but do a lot with my left that I just can’t do right-handed, not ambidextrous by any stretch. I don’t know if it goes to how I read a pattern and can follow along, but knitting completely throws my brain in a tizzy where crocheting “makes sense.” It’s kind of like playing piano vs viola for me…I cannot sight read for piano (despite 10+ years of lessons) but can instantly sight read for a viola or cello (fingering left/bowing right.)
