@librarian Now we have a Secretary of Energy who does Glamour Shots in the desert
@th3j35t3r I started following the attacks over on Twitter and felt it was like high school ... they don't like the new kid in school who's already more popular. I may be naive, but I'm happy there are some protections here. And it does feel like just a chat room where we all are civil towards each other even if differing opinions. It's a sort of a hyperbolic Utopia (if I didn't hate using hyperbole)
@jacquieb Me as well. Plus ya can't really chug hot coffee anyway. It's hot so you have to sip, enjoy, and slowly wake up until you realize the morning is over and you can now proceed to the afternoon 🙂
@jacquieb A good morning coffee chuggin' to you, then
@Martz I use Tootdon
@yogapaddlerun Finally saw it last night

@badger33 The outrage dial is turned up by all sides (isn’t Rush Limbaugh one of the fathers of outrage?), and unfortunately social media just amplifies that.
@badger33 Well, as a "lefty," I think there are other issues that are more serious (though I may well be wrong about Net Neutraility). 🙂 And I think it's unfortunate you've already dismissed us on the left side of the political spectrum. Kinda makes it hard to have meaningful / productive discourse 🙂
@badger33 I hate that this starts with "The left is in a veritable state of hysteria" because it immediately tries to turn me off. But I powered through. This is what I'm wondering about, though ... how bad will it actually be especially since the regs are relatively new anyway. I'm afraid so much is being made about this that if nothing much changes, then arguments about other, possibly more valid issues will be diminished.
@txgal I've heard the Ewoks may have won this time
@Romeo1 Thanks! Yeah, I’m kicking myself when I first heard of bitcoin and it was around $300-400. I thought it was crazy. I still think it’s a bit crazy, well mostly because I don’t fully understand block chain and its full potential, but I’ve read enough to know it has potential to be transformational (and it’s fascinating). Right now, I’m treating the currency part as if I’m buying lotto tickets. Just a few $ here and there, knowing it’ll probably be gone. But you can’t win if you don’t play.
@J4BB3RW0CK Dang, down $20. Maybe I’ll go with a Jag instead
@badger33 And I think that was part of why Obama was hesitent to go the FCC route in the first place until finally doing something (when the pressure grew too much) via the agency when it looked like nothing would be done through Congress
So I understand the potential issues with scrapping Net Neutrality rules, but won’t it just return to how it was before FCC implemented rules in 2015? Do you think ISPs are going to immediately start doing anything, or will they cont. operating as-is especially since future might be cloudy as to who will be in power is DC in 2020, and the rules could be put back into place (or made more stringent if any ISPs actually try to speed/slow/block? (I do support recognizing internet as utility)
@txgal I've switched the theme from Tootdon to Mastodon, which turned the theme from white background, black text, teal header / button to black background, white text, grey header, blue button
