So the Commander a few towns over called to let me know that they had just closed a silent auction that ran for a few weeks.
The blanket I donated had a winning bid of $26,000.00.
Are you kidding me? I am so incredibly humbled by peoples generosity in our very small, very rural communities.

I made it for a local VFW chapter.
Those funds as well as the rest that were raised will go towards paying for home health aides for their members, transportation to doctors appointments, as well as helping to replenish 2 local food pantries that are in dire need.
The struggle is real every day, everywhere. 😔
