Rules are pretty simple. Obstruct, disrupt, but don't injure or destroy.
Protests really are about holding the high ground.
And any protests that devolve into fights with counter protestors (who also have the right to be there) are automatic shutdowns.
Really, the second anyone calls 911 for medical resulting from assault, you are going to get LE. Same as it works in a bar or at a picnic.
