If he keeps this up, he's gonna get her thesis retracted.

PS. Yes, you cite the dictionary, since different ones have different definitions and you go through to the original source listed in Wikipedia to cite the author.

He knows this, but the AI billionaires are in the process of trying to convince governments that they should be allowed to make money off other people's work for free, because when you are AI, they let you do it.

@Cosmichomicide AI's are designed to learn, not copy. That's something people always get wrong about AI. The AI is using your work the same way you use the work of others. To learn from it.

Like a person, AI also misinterprets the stuff it learns from.

@Iskios

AI does not "like a person" anything. And copyrighted material is scraped and used in training plus directly copied from sources.

I do love your "horse and buggy" fear of AI comments on your feed - I presume you are likely not an artist or writer. I completely understand that the Edgelords of AI need all the work of the little people so they can regurgitate language patterns, but a lot of people like being paid for their work, not just billionaires. 🤷

How long have you been in IT?

@Cosmichomicide I do write, however, people do learn from the art of others, often without their express permission.

I do understand a lot of the concern here, but copyright or ownership is not really one that I get when it comes to AI.

I respect that your view is different, though, and that given time I might agree with it.
