I did a video a while back on partisanship.

You might not like it, but it is what it is.

I'm not saying to throw out your beliefs, I'm not saying to forgive those that have done wrong.

I'm not talking about giving politicians a pass.

I'm talking about coming together as a country and act like adults.

Please have an open mind and if you like it, share.

Wanishi.

@AkomoCombine Thank you for watching and sharing. 👊🏽

We are going to lose everything to the outside if we're divided too far.

It's a tactic we use on other countries - divide and conquer.

Old as war lol.

@IndigenousPatriot Politicians know it well. Those days of them running amuck though are over.

We simply wont tolerate outright lying when weve got their comments , tweets and interviews on record now.

Pundits too.

@AkomoCombine I think you're right kind of but I am still not convinced of accountability right now.

It's hard to tell if someone will wake up over at Dem headquarters and see that fear rhetoric needs to be DEALT with because it's such a powerful tool.

Prejudices, fear, and faith.

@IndigenousPatriot

Listening. I agree. I’m also a “liberal mainstay” just left of center & think we need to have conversations so we can move forward and address big issues, particularly environmental issues. I also know how hard it is to walk that line, from an indigenous perspective (am also native, brought up with a lot of tradition and trying to teach my daughter her language and culture). Btw, on Tues. nights we have a Lakota language class &often have elders speak or storytelling

@Museek The Lakota people leant their culture to many tribes that lost theirs after relocation and boarding schools.

Anyway yes, it's the inability to have common ground that becomes the threat to our nation if someone wanted to usurp.

@IndigenousPatriot yes… it’s part of the culture. Mitakuye Oyasin (we are all related) sweat lodges, Sundance and many other cultural practices are now (finally) able to be shared but can be tricky because of people adopting them in new age circles.

This is true. We all have a vested interest in coming together as a country for future generations. If there is one thing that’s brought everyone to the table, it’s the war. Now, if we can get along, maybe we can make better things happen.

@Museek It brought many together but they still have pockets parroting Russian talking points.

And yes, I remember some people dying over not doing cultural practices correctly because they want to claim to be experts over things they don't understand.

Such a common refrain unfortunately.

@IndigenousPatriot one person, I think you’d probably enjoy following is @johnkellden i haven’t seen him post here but I really think you’d see value in his Possibility Spaces. He is from Sweden, is great at Zooming in and Out and making connections between seemingly disparate ideas, with an eye on the future.

@IndigenousPatriot there is a big difference between political beliefs and extremism

@PeterLohnes Is there? I think the difference is shrinking over time.

@IndigenousPatriot then you’re hanging out with moderate conservatives who I have no problem with. I draw the line at people who think their personal freedoms weigh more than the lives of others. Since it’s impossible to have speeding laws for some of us and no speeding laws for others, I’m fine with the speeding laws. And in my experience there is no room for negotiation

@PeterLohnes Yes, I believe rules are designed sometimes to keep conduct acceptable for the most people at once.

What I do for a living is enforcing.

Personal freedoms are great if you're in a vaccuum - not when they overshadow the well being of others.

@IndigenousPatriot also I think it’s widening. In my lifetime I’ve never seen it ok for a politician to recommend the execution of another politician

@PeterLohnes @PeterLohnes I'm sorry - what I meant is that I believe the extremists are dictating the political discourse a lot of times.
