Resilient crops. That'd have been nice. Had a chat w/one of my boys years ago about GMO and how I hate them. If Monsanto had dedicated to creating crops that were drought/flood resistant, I'd have supported that 100%. Instead, they created crops resistant to their poison bug/weed killer.

Fwiw, we had another lost winter too (aside from the dramatic extreme storms recently) in my area. And in an ag region, where there are plenty of experienced farmers and orchardists shrugging and tearing out their hair because nothing makes sense anymore with the new weather patterns. I shouldn’t have had a 70 degree spring day in early January.

But I am extremely curious about how to resilience food production. For reasons.

Curiously, the oil industry has spread those same exact talking point.

However, there are plenty of scientists that disagree with that doomerism, so maybe we should listen before they change their minds. We can still prevent some things from getting worse.

It's beyond the point where it could be fixed at all.

If we stop all fossil fuel use today, which is both impossible and inadvisable, greenhouse gases from other sources such as ocean and permafrost changes will continue to increase; which will increase those changes.

It's too little, too late. The pot's going to boil.

@peeppeepcircus Exactly. I tried explaining this to a denier yesterday and they just couldn't get the connections and very basic science through their thick skull. They just kept repeating the circular argument, "CO2 that is around today has always been around." which of course makes zero sense in regards to everything.

I am beyond tired of YT "influencers" and "reactions"; it's gotten so you can't turn around without someone trying to clout chase and get in your face about something they think is the most important thing in the history of ever. YT has turned into the bird farm for videos and nonsensical bullshit. Tiresome.

On the do not touch list... sting is worse than man-o-war.
