I know that nobody will never do it, but I would love to hear a defeated incumbent say something like this on election night:
"I would like to congratulate my opponent, but I will not, for he is still snake in the grass. He is just a winning snake in the grass.
As for you, the electors, it appears that you are misinformed enough or stupid enough to fire me in favor of the snake in the grass. Best of luck. You'll need it.
I am now off to vacation, to get away from you fools. "

Had a convo with a young businesswoman from a wealthy old farm family this week.
Her: I hate Government.
Me: But you love your roads and safe airports.
Her: I hate Goverment waste. And Gavin Newsome.
She is funding her business with Federal grant money & her farming family gets farm subsidies and she still does not see the irony in ‘hating the government’.
