The writing is kind of similar in my mind. Beautiful writing.
I always do a double take. Jim wrote the Road Home in 1998
Cormac McCarthy wrote the Road in 2006.

I not read The Road nor will I ever. I've heard it's really good but just can't.
I've always had an irrational fear of the trees not coming back after winter. This fear seems silly but living it every year is horrible. Every spring I'm a nervous wreck until I see those first few buds on the trees.
I watched the movie The Road not really knowing what it was about. Seeing the main character get up one morning and the trees are all dead with no explanation did me in.
