Cheers and good night. Van Halen - Women In Love (Live). But according to transcriptions online Eddie is playing it wrong🤣

I’ve been on a Van Halen jag the last few days, but playing‘em on acoustic with a heavy set (56 - 13)!

@JoyfullyDazed any comment you’d care to make?

I myself think that the current Mr Bungle should cover more VH.

@InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed only is they trade shaved head guitarist, Ian for Satriani (Joe can paste on a beard if that helps you transition).

Eddie never played anything wrong.

DLR sucks.

Sammy is now in a VH cover band. No Eddie, no Alex, no VH.

Mr. Bungle cover more VH? Um. No.

😛😎🥰

@JoyfullyDazed @InUnfunky one VH reference. I went to a home based acoustic song circle. Lots of 60s, early 70s, and Jazz standards. I threw in Women in Love 😀 and a truncated instrumental version of Yes Roundabout 🤣

@Idissent @InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit Saw Montrose circa 1973. Sammy's pipes were underutilized until the 80s – he didn't cut loose until others had showed the way. Loved his VH work.

He was never the best singer but I really liked Montrose. Rock the Nation, Rock Candy and Bad Motor Scooter just being dumb awesome rock songs.

@Idissent @maybeimaleo @InUnfunky @JoyfullyDazed that first Montrose album is great. It still gets me that massive guitar tone is a Fender tweed Bandmaster and a Big Muff distortion pedal! Not too shabby in a TV studio too: m.youtube.com/watch?v=3yjHmOW7

Was a big VH fan and when DLR left and Sammy replaced him — I was in AOR nerd heaven. NTM 2 guitars and Eddie playing keys too? AWESOME.

Then Eddie stopped playing keys live and they either got the guy from Night Ranger (Sammy played with him in Montrose) or went to a tape…

@InUnfunky @maybeimaleo @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
I was never a big VH fan. I recognized the talent for sure but DLR was really off putting for me. I don't think I listened any more when Sammy joined but I was a fan of Sammy's solo stuff. I always enjoyed Standing Hampton

@Idissent @maybeimaleo @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit

DLR was pretty tongue-in-cheek whereas Sammy was fairly heart-on-sleeve, minus the obvs double entendres tunes. Nevertheless by the time of “OU812” my “tastes changed,” i.e. to cliched college alternative/rap/thrash…so anything VH was pretty outre. And THEN grunge blew everything to shit…😱🤣🤓

@InUnfunky @maybeimaleo @JoyfullyDazed @CanisPundit
I completely agree with this and was super happy about the whole grunge scene. Living in Seattle at that particular time was pretty amazing

@InUnfunky @CanisPundit @JoyfullyDazed Mr. Bungle covering others is so much fun. I love it. That’s great one for them to do.

The “The Night They Came Home” dvd/blu ray whatevs has the “Hell Awaits/Summer Breeze” duo. “True” is also pretty funny but was not on that setlist.
