@KazzyH My husband wanted to move to FL because his son did. I absolutely refused. I haven't liked FL since whenever because of the awful developments and fantasy lands. Beautiful country destroyed. So glad I didn't. I'd be stuck widowed in that hell hole

@gemswinc

When we were looking for a second home we really liked Venice florida. Laid back, quiet a lot of folks who were into yoga every morning in the beach surrounded by natural beauty.

Then an oil tanker had a spill. Off the list. Im glad we didnt buy there now we wouldn't be able to afford insurance.

I have friends who moved to key west they love it but said it's like it's own country 🙂

@KazzyH FL is undoubtedly beautiful, as is Key west, but politics and climate change make it untenable. If I moved, I'd go north

@gemswinc @KazzyH

Left in ‘99 for Fairfield Co., CT. Moved to SE VT summer of ‘01. Insane development and Jeb were in the offing the year I split the home state and it’s only gotten worse since. I used to miss it (and fam/friends) quite a bit but no more. Still have to go back every once in a while cuz of aforementioned fam, but less frequently in that regard, too. And yes, MAGA bullshit touches everything. 😕

@InUnfunky @gemswinc

Well Let's hope floirda women show up to vote their bodies.

SC is pretty cringe politically. That said, where I was wasn't as awful as other places down there.

Maine has little maga pockets 🙄

My gfs in florida are married so I was worried for them but they haven't seemed to have any issues. Same in SC. Myrtle Beach mayor is a tad magarish maga-lite I guess but she's all about pride month.

@KazzyH You've lived in many states, I only in NY. White Plains born, then Rockland County, Syracuse after University, Saranac Lake for first marriage, lastly, Long Island.

@gemswinc

Well so far 3 and just sc part of the winter. While I'll always bleed Boston I really love Maine the best. Even when I lived under the LeRage regime. Geez he was awful.

@KazzyH I hear you! Wherever I'd go, I'd bleed NYC, so!

@KazzyH @gemswinc

Ha, it's about prevalence and percentage...and then which parts of red states you can countenance. Flip side -- plenty of MAGA here in SE VT believe it or no, and I occasionally see one or two in W MA.

@gemswinc @KazzyH

Heh -- I'm a born n' bred Flurduh Man (Tampa area variety), Cindy! Pleased to make your acquaintance, ma'am. 😆

@InUnfunky

The overwhelming majority of Floridians think we should all have the freedom to make our own personal health care decisions without interference from politicians.
