Nixon was POTUS when I was born. I was too young to remember either Nixon or Ford, but I do remember Carter as President. He held the office right when I was old enough to start understanding what the POTUS was.

I just signed part of my closing papers (the parts OK to sign digitally).

A notary arrives at my house tonight at 6:30 for the final in-person signing. I will be a homeowner by 8:00 PM or so tonight.

@rpardee Thank you. I find myself wishing there was a dog here for comfort & then I remember I really want my *old* dogs & I'm nowhere near ready for even comforts from another dog yet.

So we helped each other get through that loss. This time, there's no pup to care for anymore, & no pup to return the care.

Some years ago my first dog died (at the age of 17, wow!), and I still had the little guy who just died recently - I kind of felt like I had to keep it together enough to support the little guy after he lost his best friend.

The loss is hitting me hard. It isn't the 1st time I've lost a dog but it's the 1st time I'm completely dogless after the death of one.

I'm looking through old pix of my late dog & thinking about his life. There are all these great photos of him snoozing, playing on the beach, resting in boxes, hanging out with other dogs... I hope he had the best life a dog could ever have.

I miss my dog.

Rough day emotionally today. Not sure why but I woke up missing my dog pretty hard. Whole body is aching too. Dunno if I mentioned it but got diagnosed w/psoriasis recently & there's a significant possibility I have psoriatic arthritis. Work is mad busy this week as well.
