I did a bunch of work sorting boxes in the basement today and found a blanket that smelled like my now-deceased dog & had his hair all over it & yeaahhhhh THANKS A LOT, PEANUT.
If I could find enough bits of his fur, maybe I can put the dog back together again & he'll be here once more.
It's a hopeless hope.
Also, I am binge drinking for the first time in months. I fell off the wagon, you guys.

Why is it that pets hook into us so?
Dogs especially. I never had cats - nothing against them, our dad was allergic so we just never had any. We had dogs.
We domesticated dogs thousands of years before we even figured out farming n'shit. There's something so incredibly primal about that.
My dogs were bone-deep companions. I miss my boi so much. & sometimes my little girl dog too - she passed years ago & her loss is softer.
I actually believe that dogs are one of the things that made (and make) us fully human.
Yeah. It's a damn ruff day today. FML.

@Impious_Jade Did we domesticate them though? Or did they take pity on us, having to walk upright, make and use fake teeth and claws.. After all, we still to this day do not know how to speak or understand 'dog' and yet they understand us. ;)

One of the best & most amazing things human beings ever did was domestication of the dog. That was such a gift.
