I've found my mental health tanks when I use the Bird site with any frequency.
That place sucks so much.
I don't talk about it much, but I have depression & CPTSD from, y'know... stuff.
Mostly I don't talk about it much because frankly, people are assholes.
The Bird site, well... the guy in charge over there encourages & supports the worst assholes. They've grown exponentially, it seems, like the endless heads of a Hydra. I spend most of my time over there blocking people, not interacting or learning or anything positive.
It reminds me a lot of early days on places like Usenet, or like 4chan. Bigotry & abuse run rampant because the site owner has decided such things count as free speech.
It used to be a lot easier to curate & control my timeline. Not so anymore. The abuse & bigotry have become an incurable infestation.
But then, isn't that why I signed up for here, & Spoutible? Bc the Bird site is just unmanageable anymore?
