I always feel really weird about using the words "boyfriend" & "girlfriend".

Not because I find them objectionable in any particular way, they just feel like terms that fit better when I was in my teens & 20s.

Now that I'm sturdily middle-aged they seem too young to me.

I'm 50 years old, I'm not a girl anymore. The SO is 55, he's not a boy. We're adults. There's gotta be a better term to use.

@misslovelymess Yeah, I do use that one. It works tho' I find it a bit impersonal.
