@mcfate He'll alienate more and more voters and then claim the election is rigged.
If it's close he'll argue that Dem shenanigans tipped the balance in crucial states. If it's a landslide he'll argue that honest elections are never that lopsided.
@mcfate Assaulting women is perfectly on-brand for Donolf and his minions. So is dismissing their objections as "mental health episodes."
I am reminding you to visit http://www.IWillVote.com to check your voter registration status, get updated information on your precinct, or find the number for the voter protection hotline!
@estherschindler Great, I can hardly wait to call the power company and argue with a robot about whether my power's out.
My first round with ChatGPT consisted of me proving that Tchaikovsky detested the music of Brahms, citing unequivocal language from Tchaikovsky's own letters and journals, and ChatGPT insisting there was no evidence for it.

@mcfate He doesn't hate Donold. Not like he used to, anyway.
@CJLavoie It's still an interesting observation, that "that" serves as a relative pronoun for anything (more or less, depending on dialect) while "who" always requires some perceived personhood.
@Maude That anti-climber plate on top turns out to be perfect for hanging a rope ladder -- and it gives you a place to stand while you transfer the ladder to the other side.
@CJLavoie "The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg" -- title of a story by Mark Twain
@Museek That's the drawback of his strategy of saying whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear -- or, in the absence of an audience, whatever flits through his head. On most important issues he's advocated both sides.
TIL that ivermectin is a good, accepted, on-label treatment for head lice. Kills the nits too.
Funny how the tradename has become a partisan flag. Also funny how TFG's social media site promotes it for COVID and even cancer, but not for head lice, where its efficacy is proven and significant -- it's easy to kill the adult lice, but the nits are another story.
@KarenSohne Yes, old T-shirts find new jobs as cleaning rags.
I still have more memorabilia than I want to burden my survivors with. I can let go of a holy holey T-shirt.
I'm going to try to remember to hashtag my political stuff, but (1) I've never believed it's healthy or realistic to pretend politics isn't part of life -- it's how we figure out how to *live* with each other, for Pete's sake -- and (2) until November 5 it'll be on my mind a lot. It's not every year you get to watch your country choose between democracy and fascism.
So if you really don't want to see politics, you'd probably better mute me till November 5 (at least!).
I normally leave TFG's family alone, but want to point out that he comes from a long line of draft dodgers:
After completing his apprenticeship, [Frederick] Trump ... discovered there was not enough business to earn a living. He was also approaching the age of eligibility for conscription .... He quickly decided to immigrate to the US, later saying, "I agreed with my mother that I should go to America." Years later, his family members said that he departed secretly....
@mcfate Taking bets on when Donolf starts saying he'd bring them home safe and sound if he were president, and someone ought to look into Kamala's role in this fiasco.
@sfleetucker
And to think we thought John Ashcroft was weird when he had himself anointed on becoming W's AG. At least he went with oil, not blood.
Oklahoma revokes license of teacher who gave class QR code to Brooklyn library in book-ban protest

@EvilBunny I dunno --
"Ben Shapiro, generally regarded as a high-level conservative public intellectual ...."
Anyone who regards Ben Shapiro as an intellectual probably thinks Tom Hanks is an astronaut.
Grew up in Cupertino before Apple, lived in Berkeley, now retired in South Puget Sound. He/him.
