@Museek @mcfate
The GQP is in love with "knowing intuitively" things they can't prove or are flatly untrue. They "know intuitively" that illegal immigrants cast thousands of fraudulent votes, that Cheetolini's inaugural crowd was bigger than Obama's, that Cheetolini won the 2020 election, that 8000 Black people moved heaven and earth to hear Cheetolini speak.
These folks are still buying Ivermectin; Cheetolini flogs it on his SM site. That's how stupid they are.

@Tacitus_Kilgore Sure, but two questions:
Do I get to pick them?
What's in it for me?

@piquant00 Gosh, I wonder if that's true of any other states?

@corlin @voltronic That's what I wish people would understand: every till is a polling place. Every dollar you spend is a vote.

@DavidSalo
Let's hope so. May every damned one of them get cold soup with a hair in it, underdone potatoes, and shoeleather steaks.

@EvilBunny So Caligula's still in the lead, but only by three percentage points, which is less than in the previous poll.
Also significantly less than the margin of error in this poll.
Thanks for trying to reassure me.

@BreakingNews
Unanimously. Though for lack of standing, and suggesting plaintiffs take their issues to the legislative or the executive branch. Maybe the Court is just tired of all this after half a century and wants Congress to step up. Roe v. Wade was criticized justly as legislation from the bench; if Congress had done their job then, the Court might not have felt compelled to do it for them and be plagued with fifty years of "yeah, but" suits.

@Tarnagh @sfleetucker @ThisNameWasntTaken

This time let's just let them do it. On condition that they take with them Arkansas, Alabama, both Carolinas, both Virginias, Florida, Missouri, and Mississippi.

I never thought I'd get this one -- it's all movie titles, and I don't keep up with those. But it turned out I didn't have to know anything about the movies themselves; all I needed was apprehension of superficial resemblance -- no problem there!

@LiberalLibrarian Wait, are you getting your Naomis mixed up? Easy to do. I rely on the mnemonic: If your Naomi is Klein, you're fine; if Wolf, oof.
Not to say Ms. Klein has a leg to stand on here, I haven't read the article. But she may not be the Naomi you're thinking of.

"We all know, intuitively, that a lot of illegals are voting in federal elections, but it's not been something that is easily provable."
--House Speaker Mike Johnson

"We all know, intuitively, that Mike Johnson is a pathological liar who's been tossing Donald Trump's salad since 2016, but it's not been something that is easily provable."

People doing things arbitrarily never admit it--except to themselves, and even that's rare.

Washington is absolutely bonkers in some ways. There are 28 people running for governor -- at least four times as many as for any other office, though there's a candidate for US Senate who calls himself "Goodspaceguy" and that's got to count for something.
I'll call it today: the two who go on to the general will be Bob Ferguson and Mark Mullet, both Democrats (though the latter is really a libertarian).

@ps9714 I usually solve it in 4 starting with SALET, which according to some paper I read is unbeatable (if you happen to be a computer -- it hasn't worked 100% for me). Lately I've been using ARISE and AROSE, which work pretty well.
Seems to me ATONE ought to be a good starter-- three of the four most common vowels, the two most common consonants.

William Joyce, the infamous Nazi propagandist known as Lord Haw Haw, turned out to be immune to charges of treason because he was not technically a British subject when he made his pro-Nazi broadcasts. He was convicted instead of making a false statement when applying for a passport.
I wonder if Cheetolini sees the parallel.

@KennyLaney Unfortunately polls say otherwise. Not that we should either panic or give up, but let's not let ourselves be lulled again into the 2016 mistake of thinking our fellow voters couldn't possibly be that stupid.
