Stochastic Geoengineering

It’s useful to think about humanity’s present activities in terms of terraforming. I’m tempted to stop using the terms ‘climate change’ and ‘global warming’ at all and just go with ‘stochastic geoengineering’ to describe what we’re doing. This is a good framing because it acknowledges that Western civilization is already engaged in terraforming our world; we’re just doing it in an unplanned way.

In this timeline we are living in world with comic book super villains and no super heroes to stop them.

As I pulled the hideous paneling off in the basement, the walls looked good. A couple little spots needed patching, but no biggie 👍🏼

Then I pulled the last bit off, and it was bad. As I cleaned away debris, it got worse. Ended up having to carefully rebuild most of the wall 😫

It’s like whoever built out the panel walls just said fuck it and closed it in without fixing that single wall. They signed their names in the mortar. I cursed them as I fixed their mess 🤬
