@Hobyrim That seems like it wouldn't matter _here_. We don't have an algorithm. I'm assuming that the habit has just become the norm everywhere.
My concern is that it feels like it may be a habit we've been taught that isn't actually good for us, or for the messages.
I think people have an idea that a picture is somehow evidence, and words are ephemeral and made-up. I think we've been trained to think pictures are honest.
@AskTheDevil yes that's the point. It's a habit because the algorithms over years have trained people what posts get traction and which ones don't.
@Hobyrim And who decided that algorithm? Was it people who like everyone to have information, or was it people who make money by controlling how information is used?
Or, what is it about it being a graphic instead of text that makes it seem more valuable to people, so they engage more?
