The AI panic of 2022/2023 isn't really about jobs. I mean it is, but that's the target that you are meant to set your sights on.
The real goal of this push, tied together with the endless articles about return to work, and ~productivity~ is to blunt the coming push from gen Z about universal basic income and work life balance.
The tech bros know that they need a way to get you, Gen-x and millennials, to turn against the kids.
Don't fall for it.
@Hobyrim i approve of this take. The erosion of employment , humanity and creative autonomy are scary enough; but the machinations of the rich vs. everyone else have never been more pervasive or insidious.
