You ever do something that's so absurd you have to promise the other person that this isn't a scam, which of course makes it more suspicious?

We had a mobile device for trial use from a vendor. We liked it a lot, bought a couple and returned the test unit.

My guys didn't wipe the device before returning and the rep didn't either.

So now I'm auditing our devices and I am like why is this device located all the way across the state. (1/n)

So I cross reference Google maps and the mdm's location function to determine exactly what business is using the device.

Cue an hour of me explaining, no I don't need you give me access to anything, I already have it, I don't want it. I didn't want to screw them by wiping the device because I needed to recover our MDM license.

Eventually they understood, but not until I sent messages saying I don't want control please call to the device did they realize the problem. (2/2)
