DO NOT CALL OR MESS WITH IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING
I had two users get this today, though they didn't click. A buddy of mine from another local company did as well.
Be vigilant, don't panic, and call for help as soon as you can if something like this happens.
The user got this from a legit banking site (HSBC) after sitting idle for a few minutes.
@jaunty that's a fake number. That's why I said don't call. Basically the scammers have you call them and then they social engineer you to give up the keys to the kingdom.
Never ever call any number given on scareware
@Hobyrim Thanks, that what I thought. But who do you contact? Is there a real problem with your system? Or do you just dismiss and ignore?
@jaunty something like this, if you have an IT dept you call or find them directly and as soon as possible.
If not, you do your best to close out anything without clicking on stuff. Then run virus scan and hope for the best.
@Hobyrim 🤣 that would cause me some serious panty poopage if it showed up.
This is what I would use. It's caught bugs for me that the others missed. Microsoft tech support put me onto them years ago.
@Hobyrim Call who? The Windows support number shown in the image? We’re not affected. Just checking.
