PSA - Building a COSO 'mood-o-meter' - basically a speedometer that will indicate the overall mood / sentiment of COSO at any given moment.

Might even, implement individual mood-o-meters for each user - and have COSO automatically cheer up people who seem down - also auto look out for bullies, or folks with possible temporary suicidal tendancies or mindsets.

We'll be the only social network with these particular safe-guards.

^^^ CLARIFICATION:

Only public posts can be 'scored' - private locked accounts and Direct Messages between you and whoever cannot be seen by it.

^^^ Here's how the backend for this idea currently looks, it's the polarity and subjectivity numbers we care about.

The polarity score is a float within the range [-1.0, 1.0].

The subjectivity is a float within the range [0.0, 1.0] where 0.0 is very objective and 1.0 is very subjective.

I'm building the math out to work it all out, average it all out, etc etc.

I am a little bit uncomfortable with this idea. But I don’t have enough information to form an opinion.
So I will wait and see.

But this might mean I lock my account to private only.

I dislike having my toots, measured by a mechanical opinion. No mater how fair, and well crafted it is.

@corlin Other software does something on other SM but without the option. The data is mined without user knowledge. But I get your concern. @th3j35t3r has always maintained his integrity and the user experience in mind when developing the platform.

Yes, all good points.
And I do trust @th3j35t3r. Also the greater good comes into play here.

I may make it opt-in or opt out for individuals. If I even implement individuals - might just leave it at the overall COSO 'temperature'.

I'd kinda like a personal one, or maybe just a part of our profile we can edit with a smiley/mad/sad/etc face for mood of the day? Like Facebook's What are you doing feature, but better?

(just brainstorming)

@th3j35t3r @corlin @_Ms_J

@Heucuva8 I like the idea of a personal one too. But I live with a service dog who constantly monitors my “mood”, so I’ve experienced the benefits of an external indicator of where my head’s at. Opt-in or an option to make it visible to only the individual may be a good idea though
