Dear Medicals:
If I go to the ER, and observe ppe protocols [outerwear removed afterwards in the parking lot, mask, goggles, gloves, hair covered, immediate shower once back home] would I then need to self-isolate for 14 days?
I've been unsuccessful over the past 3 days in my quest to find somewhere local that is equipped to test/vaccinate me for an extremely low risk possible rabies exposure.
I [+2 of my most beloved family who I live with] am extremely high-risk if exposed to COVID-19.
@Hettivong (not a medical 😁)
have you tried calling a vet for suggestions? most vets are equipped for rabies testing, (but not on humans?) so they may be able to point you in the right direction if you explain up-front WHY you need special handling for this! hope you get what you need quickly and safely ❤️ 🤗
@Hettivong I suspect anyone is going to be reluctant to answer this as it is a highly personalized risk decision.
I would say that IF you elect to go, consider an N-95 to provide greater protection of *you* getting infected.
