@JoyfullyDazed Good idea, indeed, they are afraid of drag queens who caused no fatalities, but hide in the closet when asked to control guns!!😘
@JoyfullyDazed exactly, I don't approve of abortions either unless the mother is in danger or the girl was raped! Adoption will always be preferable!
I believe no one should be told what they can and can't do medically. If the government said everyone with cancer has to do chemo, how would that go over? Not very well.
@JoyfullyDazed Agreed, but here we are trying to save an innocent life!!
I get it. But, it'll never be right to be told what you can/can't do medically. There are so many variables, it's not cut and dry. Some women end up carrying a dead baby to term, some are unable to have children after being denied an abortion for life threatening medical complications. A doctor should not be forced to tell a women who could die, or that her baby has died, that he/she can't do anything to help her - they took an oath to do the opposite.
@Helveticus @JoyfullyDazed There's another: To restore the marriage bond. If the woman strays, and a child results, but she wants to be restored to her husband.
According to thoughts on abortion (a fetus is a person), any father that doesn't take responsibility for that baby should have to pay child support as soon as conception is known. JMO.
@JoyfullyDazed @Helveticus There are many aspects related to having a child and/or having an abortion that are difficult. Child support is obviously needed. I don't know how best to implement it but I would definitely include the time a mother is pregnant in that.
That said, I don't consider an unborn child to be the same as a born child. I try to follow what the Bible says about this but the popular view doesn't match the words of scripture exactly.
@JoyfullyDazed @Helveticus In my reading, an unborn child is not yet a person, not until they are born. In several verses, the Bible uses the language "breath of life" to refer to a new human. I don't think we should interpret this as God's superpower. Rather, God seems to be defining life as that which breathes. It is most clear to me in the Ezekiel passage describing the valley of dry bones. So I understand a developing child as just that: developing. Once born they are persons.
@JoyfullyDazed @Helveticus In no way am I trying to promote abortion here. I'm just trying to find where that line is. From my reading I know it's somewhere in between conception and birth. And I know there are exceptions that allow for abortions.
I think the whole rhetoric around abortion by the American church and the far right in the United States is politically charged. It should not be so.
@Helveticus @JoyfullyDazed Fortunately, you are able to do whatever you want with your body. Just keep your mouth shut about things that literally don't involve you, which is to say, anyone else's body.
@badgerwerks @JoyfullyDazed
You are dazed indeed, perhaps sadly not joyfully and that's why you have no other recourse than to say "shut up" to more intelligent and more socially aware people like me. O well, the world needs intolerant idiots so the rest of us can shine! Thank you!
I'm not sure if you muted me, Helveticus, but I didn't tell you to shut up. I would never say such a thing. I know how to agree to disagree without going low. Please check the post again.

Me:
That post tells me to keep my mouth shut! If that's not you, my apologies but I just replied to that directly!
No, you didnt just reply, you insulted me because you didn't read the post correctly. Badger wrote it. Not me.
I'm done.
@Helveticus
That's what hubby keeps saying. I say, they don't want women to have abortions but they don't mind kids being shot to death.
