@HappyAcademic--Assuming MTG is correct, and that's a large leap, what's the downside? The DOJ takes back the investigation and continues with their original approach. This doesn't help Trump, who has railed against a partisan witch-hunt from the start. If the GOP cripples the Special Prosecutor, they take away one of Trump's effective talking points to the MAGAs.
@s3friedman thank you. I have been puzzling this out. Appreciate your thoughts
@HappyAcademic Yeah, probably. At least it would cause major disruption. The rule allows amending bills on the floor to strike funding for entire offices.
@HappyAcademic I've seen trusted sources say that she can try but it won't succeed. I'm still sorting out the specifics but I don't think the AG would have gone down this road only to have it potentially defunded.
@HappyAcademic Right or wrong, let's just pray, hope, do a spiritual dance or whatever that Pelosi's House adequately funds Garland's Special Counsel before January.
@HappyAcademic Can't do anything until after January 3rd. Things will not not change until then. Even then it is questionable. #politics
@HappyAcademic
As I understand it, this is a rule allowing them to cut the pay of civil service employees down to 1 dollar. Jan 5 2017 Wapo article (I don't know how to insert link). Raised by Trump, as a means of targeting the civil service.

@HappyAcademic I would think Garland would have checked all the boxes. MtG is a troll.
