When your child is struggling with long division and it has been quite awhile since you've done it, you google and break it down.

During the rare homework last night, as the teacher explained all the kids were struggling, I had to figure out why. I did figure out why and was able to show my 9yr old a much simpler way than had been taught... He went to bed feeling empowered. Parenting win.

So, what have we learned from this offseason election here in America as the dust has settled?

The total and utter rejection of MAGA Fascism.

There will be of course a whole bunch of spin about what "Actually" happened yesterday to pull attention to the same 'Doom and Gloom©®™' news that churns out those ratings dollars for legacy media; but, nah.

Americans rolled up their sleeves, went to voting booths and said "This is where fascism ends, no farther!"

Not quite 24 hours ago a car pulled out in front of my son Jake’s motorcycle. He T-boned them and went ass over teakettle over their hood. His $800 helmet saved his life. We spent a long 9 hours in the ER but he’s home and doing great. He’ll be sleeping in my recliner for a few days until he’s able to navigate stairs. But the cats haven’t left his side and he’s up and moving every couple hours. I’m beyond thankful.

Today my cat is going to jam out on some Metallica while I'm at work, hope my place is still standing when I get home!

How to Do Civilized Voting.

I voted a week ago. No not much on the ballot this time.
But because I live in Oregon where ALL voting is done the civilized way, by mail in ballots. I had two weeks to drink coffee, and read up on the issues. I voted with no pants on, at my kitchen table. Took my time. Enjoying the whole affair.

If you really want more people to vote. Insist on mail in voting. Make it easy. Going to a poling place is so 1950.
