I've only seen Malcolm Browne's famous photo of Thích Quảng Đức's self-immolation. Reading his description of how Thích Quảng Đức remained absolutely still and completely silent during it has haunted me forever.

Thích Quảng Đức was protesting the persecution of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese government at the time.

Aaron Bushnell was an active member of the U.S. Air Force and he self-immolated himself in protest of the U.S. involvement in genocide. He shouted Free Palestine until he was screaming in absolute agony .... if you manage to somehow find the UNCENSORED footage (there is some on "X" and other placed unedited and uncensored I think still) ... I am not sure I would recommend you watch it ... at the same time ... I do recommend everyone watch it ...

After the protest, the United States wanted Diệm to give the Buddhists want they wanted. After Quảng Đức died, Diệm had meetings about the Buddhist crisis with all of his ministers. United States Secretary of State Dean Rusk told the United States embassy in Saigon that the U.S. government would not "associate itself" with Diệm's government if the Buddhists were not given what they wanted. On June 16, the Joint Communiqué was signed.

I don't believe Aaron's death will have any kind of impact in this day and age ... not like Quảng Đức's ... but still ... the act is a powerful statement that might really wake people up.

At the same time, many people know the picture of Thích Quảng Đức but have no knowledge of WHY he did what he did. They don't remember the history at all ...
