As a teenager then as a young adult, whenever I had true fear about something, my Granny would read Psalm 91 to/with me.

With wig turned sideways, clothing a mix of colors & patterns, none matching whatsoeverπŸ˜‚, she'd read this passage, explaining each verse & explain how fear can overtake your mind if you let it. She'd tell me to release fear either by praying & talking to God, or talking to a person.

I hear her voice a lot these days.

I do what she said to do more & these days; ugh.

@Gramdma2011 I do love knowing someone is my refuge and fortress. What did your Granny say about doing more?

@catie Sorry; went to sleep after reading/tooting that!😁

She used to tell me to sit & think of fears worse than the fear I was experiencing, to imagine people with worse fears, and that mine would seem less fearful. And she'd tell me to never hold on to fear, to change it to "What can I do besides sit & worry", then think of something that makes me feel secure, such as cooking, reading, etc. She always told me a mind goes where you let it take you; to crowd out the fear with positive thoughts

@catie πŸ€”... Epiphany! I think my lil ol Granny was telling me to not go down rabbit holes! 🀷

πŸ€”...If she were alive, she'd have plenty to say about the phrase "rabbit holes"...🀦🀣

@Gramdma2011 Granny seems to have thought Alice in Wonderland was a warning story. πŸ˜‚
