@Heucuva8 We can delete/re-draft; technically that can be considered editing. Twitter does not let you do that much! We must delete a toot completely to re-write it, causing 1st toot to disappear, even if liked, boosted, or replied to. This is what I speak of; to me, to change words one has written is editing 🤷♀️

Dude A: edits cats to Nazis
Dude A's Original toot vanishes as well as Dude B's reply.

Absolutely better than edit. That's exactly how it works tho. Whole thing disappears. ☺️
@Heucuva8 @Gramdma2011 I understand the reasoning, but there are other ways to handle that. You could for example show that it was edited with an option to show the original. But it’s not a deal breaker
Try the Delete and Redraft option. It keeps the content of your message. The only downside is if you delete and redraft, any replies to your old message will be gone as well.

On my blog, I use Disqus as the commenting platform, and people can edit their comments. I had a particular poster who would post something, people would respond to that post, and then she'd completely change the content of her post so that we all looked nuts. Needless to say, I made it clear she was no longer welcome at the blog.
No edit, just a delete and redraft option. And for very good reason.
