#QuestionOfTheDay: What did you want to be when you grew up?
@GaryPoole As my mom used to say as she approached 90, "I age, I don't grow up - two different things"
@Greytdog "Getting older is required. Growing up, however, is optional."
✨Happy✨
@GaryPoole I don’t have a good answer but it reminds me that I didn’t have much of a clue about the options. Over the years, especially shortly after college, I learned a ton about the immense variety of jobs/careers available, and still wish someone had told me sooner.
I wanted to be either a lawyer or a teacher. I was bossy & argumentative. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂
@Jax_Wild_4_Life "Was"? 😎 😂
Lol okay, ya got me! I used to be argumentative and bossy ... I still am*, but I used to be, too ... 🤓🥸🤣🤣🤣
@Jax_Wild_4_Life I see another fan of Mitch Hedburg. 😜
@GaryPoole I definitely have an appreciation for the late great Mitch Hedberg for sure! What a hilarious comic he truly was
a ballerina.
or a veterinarian.
LOL am not even remotely suitable for either.
but it all worked out.
@GaryPoole An astronomer. 🔭
@GaryPoole - I was lucky enough to know what job I wanted to have when I was six.
But then, I found out if you wore glasses you couldn't be an astronaut, so at 8, I decided to be a programmer and started that "professionally" at 15. That is what I've been doing ever since.
@GaryPoole Like many I was drawn to computers at a young age. At 61 I'm still amazed and intrigued by what is possible, and what might be possible soon.
@GaryPoole I had my dj days Gary. Now at 69 years old I'm still trying to figure that out!
Even as a young kid, I always wanted to be on the radio. So I did accomplish that, though there are many (many many) who question whether I have actually "grown up".
