One of my Gen-Z coworkers wanted to know why I wasn't on TikTok.
I looked at her and said, "I'm 55. Do you really want to see me dancing to Lizzo songs or doing weird challenges while cracking dad jokes?"
She agreed and said it was probably for the best that I stay away. π
@attilatheblond My younger coworkers continually are surprised when the remember my actual age, since (as they say), I never act like what they think someone in their mid-50's should act like.
I take that as a compliment. π
@GaryPoole If it helps them get beyond the pitfalls of stereotyping by generation, it helps build a better society. Keep on breaking their assumptions! It speeds up their move from naive to aware. It helps deter the divide & conquer tricks the uber wealthy have relied on for thousands of years.
@GaryPoole Put that in the "They don't see you as a generation when they know you as an individual" file.
Evidence that there is hope for unity. π
