We took a lovely 15.25-mile ride today, making our 2022 total 1275.11 miles. The time change will make additional post-workday rides impossible until the spring, unfortunately. Will this be all for 2022, or will we get more nice weekend days? We shall see. 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♂️ #KatyTrail #Cycling

@yogapaddlerun Yeah. It’s just been so nice not getting sick over these past almost 3 years. Wearing a mask is something I think I’m likely to continue doing in a lot of public settings in the near future. If we ever get on a plane again, I think we may be masking. At some point, I hope that I feel safe going to restaurants and not just getting takeout. I’m not quite there yet, though.
@yogapaddlerun Interesting. It’s so hard to know for sure, particularly if you got something back in those early days.
Bryan wishes you a beautiful #CoSoCaturday filled with your favorite things. Some of his include snuggles with his old and new buddies, laying in the sunshine, and just relaxing. 😺 #CatsOfCoSo #CoSoCats #Caturday
@yogapaddlerun I’m worried about not being masked around others indoors, but we’ve made a handful of exceptions around small groups of vaccinated people since we got vaccinated in 2021 & have been OK. We will see what happens after a small gathering next weekend. It’s just hard to gage how much stuff is really circulating at this point in our area - there’s a lack of reliable data. We’ve gotten our bivalent boosters and flu shots, so we’re doing what we can.
@yogapaddlerun We haven’t been sick since Dec. 2019, either, when we think what we had was likely an early version of Covid-19. All I know is that is the worst I’ve felt being sick in my entire life - the cough was unbelievable. Even after we both got through the worst of it, we still had this nagging cough for 5-6 weeks. I hope that you feel better ASAP, if you did catch something.
@gshevlin Perfect! 👏🏼😹 I wish iPhone’s autocorrect would learn this, considering that I’ve had to correct autocorrect a million times! It really struggles with “were” vs. “we’re” in my experience. It seems to never let me type “were” without trying to make it “we’re”, which is maddening for a grammar nerd like me!
@midbikecrisis Also, 1600 is awesome!! Good job!! 👏🏼
@midbikecrisis We haven’t gotten to go as much lately due to the weather getting cooler and not as much daylight after work, but we hope to get out there over the next few days when it’s warm here again. We’ve been in a holding pattern with 1241 miles for the last 10 days. Once late October hits, it’s anyone’s guess how long we have left to ride before we can’t get out there for a few months. One day we will move someplace where it doesn’t get cold! 🤞🏼
@DJ95X For sure! We have been a mess for a while after each one goes. 😿
@DJ95X Thank you. Losing them always hurts! We’ve lost 6 so far, including 2 only 5 weeks apart in April and May of this year. Both of them had battled cancer for 2+ years, and one was going on 20 years old, so of course we knew it would happen eventually, but we never thought it would be so close together for those 2.
@morgana You’re not alone! My husband and I are still masking when indoors in public places, and are contemplating how to handle our small family holiday gatherings once again this year. Covid is not over, no matter what the media/powers that be say, and of course now there’s also flu and RSV to be concerned with, so a mask will help with those, too.
@DJ95X Of course, when we adopted Fiona, Roscoe & Theo in Dec. 2019, the plan was only to adopt 2, but we fell in love with Fiona, and when we asked about her friends, littermates Roscoe & Theo were both buddies of hers. We didn’t want to break them up, so we took all 3. No regrets - they were a wonderful addition, as they all have been. 😺
@DJ95X Yeah, there is a tiny tuxedo cat who has been roaming our backyard lately…we will do our best not to invite him/her in and have 9 at once. We have declared 8 as our limit, but I don’t know. Back in 2008, we thought 6 was our limit, but then a beautiful tortie started hanging around our yard all the time and it was starting to get cold, so we adopted her, and she was with us until 2019, when unfortunately, she passed after a short battle with cancer. We’re suckers for these little ones!
@Hoi_Pollois Sure - what are you having trouble with? I just use the little camera button in the new post window and upload pics from there. I’m using the app, though.
@Catzly I’ve always liked that spelling of the name. Torties have plenty of “cattitude,” but they’re also really sweet. 😻
@Dongpo Awe - so sweet!! 😺
