@Helical_Code I am suddenly quite distressed that I missed out on this whole aspect of the Trailing of the Sheep Festival last time I was in Idaho. I got good pictures, but I completely missed the artistry....

@GrandmaJ we are a gluten free and sugar free household. I have found gluten free breads to be...blech 😜 I wouldn't want to ruin a good zucchini 😂

@GrandmaJ LOL I will take ALLLLLLLL the zuchinni (much to the SO's dismay). I can easily eat one of those big zuchinni per day + some more in casserole form.

@Helical_Code LOL leaving me alone with unanswered questions is risky. I have since gone down a rabbit hole and learned a lot about spindles and wheels and rigid heddle looms and different ply yarn and using homespun yarn for weaving..... #sodangerous

@Elinkster The people who have lived in this area for a long time will tell you that we are getting less and less snow every year. It'll be interesting to see how these changes affect our agriculture, infrastructure, and weather-dependent industries over the next couple of decades. I'm already designing infrastructure for 500 yr storms instead of 100 yr storms. But I think our agriculture and industry may be slower to accept and adapt to the changes.

@GrandmaJ As I said, I'm not very good at it. However, I'm very fortunate to have coworkers who care about me and yell at me when I'm working too much, and a company who at least gives lip service to caring about work/life balance. It was also a bit eye opening when my manager calculated the $$$ associated with my overtime thus far this year.

Come on North Carolina...I left Texas for a reason. It's only the start of June! Save these shenanigans for August will ya?

@GrandmaJ I don't always succeed at unplugging and recharging, but I understand the importance of it and I'm trying to be better.

@GrandmaJ My brain has trouble turning off. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I often will not be able to go back to sleep. However, I am happy to report though that I spent the day napping and reading for pleasure and will spend the evening under the pergola enjoying the yard after it cools off a bit :) it was a lovely day. I hope your day was equally wonderful 😊

Dishes are done. Coffee is in. Garden is fertilized. Run felt great this morning; knocked 45 seconds off my mile and got in under 10 minutes. Going to be hot today so no working on gutters. Either I do work work or I find something else to occupy my time. Maybe I need a new hobby.

@yadayadayada a guy I knew was walking down the street while talking on his phone, crossed the street right in front of a car, and was killed. The poor little old lady who hit him was incredibly distraught and I'm sure it will affect her for the rest of her life. It was a very sad and unnecessary situation. Distractions are dangerous.

@Helical_Code what keeps the 3-ply yarn from unraveling? pure tension?

@Helical_Code spinning is the process of creating the fibers and then the shawl is created via knitting? loom? I know nothing....but I am curious about the process.
