My SO's grandmother passed away yesterday. On the one hand it is very sad to lose a beloved family member. On the other hand, she hasn't been herself for over a decade and she has been asking to die for just as long. She couldn't hear. She couldn't see. She couldn't take care of herself. All of her friends are passed. All of her family lives here in the US and she was a lone. I believe in death with dignity. It was sad to watch her suffer so much for so long.

@Foxthorn it’s sad when those we love pass on but I always feel a bit of relief that they’re no longer in pain or suffering, especially when their parents, siblings, spouses, friends & sometimes children pass away before them.
Sending comforting thoughts to you & your SO ❤️

@annamuneca There is definitely a sense of relief on our part. She was in her late 90's and it was so hard to watch her deteriorate and to know that this wasn't the life she wanted for herself.
