Our program is largely delivered in key areas of tent cities, under viaducts, church parking lots etc. Its a massive undertaking by amazing volunteers.

I volunteer both at our local food pantry and soup kitchen. An off-shoot resource of them both is a clothes closet open a couple times of year.

These and several other resources are available but not everyone in need has the means to get to them. We do have some volunteers in the community to help get them there when they can.

@LiberalLibrarian I go back and forth.

If they're gullible enough to be misled by malevolent people, then chances are fair that this place may not agree with them.

I live downtown Asheville. Walking Abby early morning last winter, temp in the teens. Suddenly our recycle dumpster burst open & a guy crawled out. He said he wraps himself in cardboard to make it through the night. I wept when I returned to my warm little apt. And found a local source that helps the homeless. We have a group called BeLoved Asheville.

Find your own local resources. There are many ways to help. Provide bottled water & tube socks if limited $$.

The weather is turning colder which means those who are homeless will struggle to find warm clothing.

Throughout the year, I shop 2nd hand stores for basics to hand out as the season changes.

Today, I distributed sweatshirts, socks, gloves, hat for a number of men, women & children. I included a PB sandwich w/water, just because.

It wasn't much, but hopefully a little extra warmth to help through the day. I worry a lot about this growing segment of society.

@CherNohio That is awesome. I hand out warm dry socks in winter. I've just loaded up my stock in vehicle. It's not much, but each but helps.

It just pisses me off when people believe shit about CoSo and who Jester used to be rather than just trying us out to see what he is now and what this space is. It's infuriating.
