Is it just me or do some people misunderstand counter social? Maybe they're used to the bird? I see posts from new people which simply say 'Follow me across social media' and nothing else, no introduction etc. I'm not being critical, perhaps that works for some people, but it seems a bit self-interesed to me (like the big accoutns on Twitter who just want loads of follows or something?
As I say, it's probably just me.
It’s not just you.
Even on the bird, I never asked for them.
It’s way better to meet organically.
Your numbers don’t impress me.
Your words will…one way or another.
That’s my philosophy.
@MrsDanaD Me too. I'm so glad others feel the same way. I looked at people replying to me when I joined and, if I liked or was interested in their profile, then I followed them.
@MrsDanaD It honestly does. I'm capable of standing up for myself but I miss having decent conversations, a bit of critical thinking, and being able to disagree courteously. I can do all of the above here though!
Even if someone disagrees, there won’t be vitriol then a bunch of trolls on top of that.
It’ll be ok; nice to meet you; have a good day.
And move on.
Like actual humans.
Go figure.
😉
@MrsDanaD Yes, exactly. I'm the same on here as I am in real life. I prefer courtesy, run a mile from confrontation if possible and happy to agree to disagree. xx
@Florence
Which feels safe.
