Good morning/day/evening to CoSovians in all time zones.
Enjoy your zone appropriate beverage of choice ☕🍺🍷as I toast to finally getting my friend's 80 day drought ended. Booster pump installed and several ugly electrical issues cleaned up and made safe in the process. There was 240v in a broken wet conduit joined in a mangled interior J-box that I feel good about now. The gate box was all broken too, now safe. Still need an in-use weather cover for it.

Not filthy, just allegedly. I'm a 10 y.o. Show more

So I'm in Columbia. Forgot my debit card in the machine. It ate it. Now I have to rely on credit card for a cash advance, and I f'd up my pin 3 times. I called the bank to fix it. The AI answering process couldn't understand a word I said but eventually said "okay, we're sending a new pin to your house in by snailmail." I neither asked for nor authorized this. After 24 hours of panic and five calls to Citibank. I got a friend to send me money by Western Union. "At any WU office."
Nope.
Mañana.

Uber'd to the airport after midnight. Napped on cold hard surface until 04:30. Brush teeth, etc. Takeoff 06:00. Just landed PTY with a 4 hr layover B4 flt to Santa Marta. Probably nap more. 🥱

Got dropped in Viejo San Juan about 4pm ayer. Walked up to La Verguenza 4 beers. Saw an old local acquaintance, met a new one who lives near the airport and offered crash space when needed. I offered my place on the west coast. We both like travel. Maybe visit Peru together someday.

Walked to El Batey - oldest bar in OSJ. Met 2 new old friends. A couple. In love. With each other and PR. I told them I'd marry them when time came, and offered my place for their next trip. Hugged farewell.

Good.

I can't say I blame . We’ve spend over 200 years trying to prove to the world that democracy is the way to govern, and then one know nothing ignoramus and racist demagogue comes along and convinces the masses of people to give up on democracy for a fascist dictatorship.

Oh, and then to tie in a 250 cistern on the roof with the small pump for backup.

Welp, I tried out the expensive 3/4 horse that I thought would be marginal, and I was right. Then went and got the 1 HP blue bomb and it will work to get to the top of the hill, but still going to have to put in a 1/2 HP version of the blue one at the top to boost enough pressure for the house. Both together will be cheaper than the $500 automagical that was recommended to her. I'm calling it a win. Will deal with a housing, the 2nd pump, and fine tuning when I get back from Colombia next week 💦

good morning and good day all. Off to install a booster pump at a friend's place. She's been without water for 2 mo. Well died apparently. I'll look at it later, but for now got city H2O to the house but only 15 PSI at the bottom of the hill. Need it 50 ft higher and so, here we go. A $500 pump to install and test out today b4 rains come at 11.

The visitor's center at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, AK. There used to be a restaurant there with amazing chili....

So far, freeform jamming, I'm sure there is a cover I don't know in there somewhere.

Let's get warmed up amigos.
Rained out on the plaza across the street, our intrepid jazz musicians have booted the karaoke DJ and taken over the back room at the bar. The bass player is my neighbor. 🎼🎺🎸🎶

12 hr day so far, probably have another hour or 2 in me after a beer and some food. Removed cheap old dining room flooring, (saving for temp reuse upstairs), final set on base cabinets and dishwasher. Fitment of beadboard panels, ready for glue and nail after kitchen floor install, which is 1st thing in a.m. after coffee, just have to final sweep, vac, lay foam, and land the ez 2/3 of the kitchen. Then on to the dining room after moving the fridge and stove cabs back to K -- I hope. 🔨🪛🪚

Good Saturday morning all! Another work day. After finishing breakfast, I will head downstairs and continue installing flooring in the kitchen and the rest of the main floor. I always bite off more than I can chew. But when it looks this good...😋

Today I drove 4 hours round trip to Denver to pick up flooring for my project that was supposed to arrive here today but they dropped it at the wrong warehouse, in the wrong city.

I told the sales guy to find a hot shot to pick it up and to bring it to me, but he couldn't. So I told him I was going to pack charge him $500 to go get it with my trailer.

When I got home and took a closer look I found it's not even the right material.

I'm less than happy.
Really really less than happy.
