Okay, these take the new crown for the best Mero fish tacos on the island - the topping is krab (or crab maybe) not some coleslaw as I first thought. Good bang for the buck too

I love when my order gets a little bit confused b/c language diffs, and something wonderful shows up.

Lunch in Waimea on a Sunday drive during my 2 week stay. Just about to leave when someone walks up to me and asks my name. I recognize my now 10 year older friend immediately, though I'd seen him earlier. A river buddy from Washington State that I've spent months with in Grand Canyon, now living here. What are the odds?

A visit to his house, whiskey and beers followed. Promises to stay in touch after an hour visit, and the world is smaller and better than it was just before lunch.

Big Island - the round rock is a green sea turtle on black sand beach - doesn't seem to load, next post maybe. Kilauea taking a back seat to Iceland, Sicily and...southern hemisphere somewhere I've forgotten.

Good morning 👋 and happy time ☕
Well, I thought we'd skirt this storm 🌨️ last night. Maybe an inch expected. Apparently in the early a.m. it dumped several inches to a foot around town. Looks like I have four to six inches around the house, with more on the way this morning.🧤🧣🥶

Tarpaper laid yesterday, roll roofing and sealing the joints and edges with Henry's today. Cool yesterday and today and wet/snow coming this afternoon. I should get it done just under the wire.

Going to put the kettle on now for .
Still dark out and 26°F at 6:30.

Good morning beautiful Nauts! 🌞

Another cuppa ☕ before returning to my reroof project. Sunroof leaked and rotted out the joists, so leaving it off this time. Have to replace one more sheet on the "okay" side this morning, then underlayment paper and roll roofing, finish up with Henry's. Hopefully get it all done before it gets nasty late this afternoon or tomorrow.

I've been on a treasure hunt in a 4-in sewer pipe for the last couple days. These are some of my trophies. Not pictured are several pieces of gravel, some "white-tailed sewer rats" and a couple of other curiosities. .

I've officially been catted.
2 days of coming in and out and chose this morning to come up to my lap.
But taking her to the vet today to see who she's chipped with and get her back home.

Good morning my beautiful CoSo friends.
☕ While I'm making coffee. I'll show you a picture of il qat that seems to be moving in. She started by occupying the chair on the porch at the front door in the last weeks. Last night appeared upstairs in the apartment as apparently the door blew ajar. After calmly checking out things in all corners she ensconced herself here. She was awarded with sardine snak, water, and some dog kibble which she ate with grace and calm. After a bit, asked to go out.

😥

“On the day of our victory, I’ll put away my uniform, don an elegant gown and heels, and celebrate. I’ll get married and have a big happy family. But I’ll never forget the men & women who died for our freedom," Ivanna Lemeshko once wrote.

Ivanna died in combat this week.

Did you ever think about building a train set? So big you have to design your house over top of it? This gentleman says it's his third setup, he started this about 20 years ago.

When Babbel offers a lifetime membership, they lie. It's only 100 years.

Hopefully I will :WilLongAndProsper:

A quick flight across the island to San Juan, then drinks dinner and barhopping until returning to the airport at maybe 2am for my 0330 flight. I love old San Juan's blue cobblebrick streets and architecture.
