Wouldn't be surprised if I'm an outlier, but as a plant eater, I'm not interested in making plants look or taste like meat.

If I wanted to eat meat I'd eat meat

"Some of the plant-based meat substitute industry’s woes can be attributed to politics. Many consumers associate plant-based meat substitutes with veganism, animal rights activism and left-wing politics."

I know this is true.

That said, have they considered that an even bigger problem they have is that the price of their product is exponentially greater than a comparable amount of actual meat?

Yeah I'm not in favor of trying to make people become vegetarians or vegans, so much could be accomplished just by asking people to reduce their meat intake, meatless Mondays spaghetti Sundays,etc. Even just making the meat portion of a meal smaller. The days of a giant slab of meat with a side of baked potato and a couple pieces of iceberg as a salad like my brother eats is just weird to me anymore.

@FireMonkey @BrentSullivan

Yeah, I grew up on that sort of diet and I agree.

I wouldn't be opposed to switching to plant based "meat" if it were affordable. I think that's a bigger problem for these companies than any of the conservative political attitudes about plant based meat substitutes.

If it was affordable, even conservatives would buy it no matter what they said about it publicly.
